Membership as a self employed person within the Catalan Integral Cooperative is a tool to allow the development of a self employment project. A self employed member is an individual or collective project that carries out a cooperative form of economic activity using the common services put in place by the CIC as a legal framework for their activity.

For self employed workers, this type of membership is an alternative to individual interaction with the state and is also an alternative for the small businesses that would like to become cooperative projects.
The objective is for the self employed members to carry out their activities whilst minimising bureocratic administration: this way their interaction with the state is reduced to a minimum, working as a CIC member and using the structure of self employment within the CIC.
